What Spondoons is (and isn’t)
Spondoons provides free calculators, guides and general information to help you understand your money. Spondoons is not a lender, credit broker or financial adviser. Nothing on this site is personal financial advice. Figures produced by our calculators are illustrations based on the numbers you enter — they are not offers, quotes or guarantees. Always check figures with your lender or provider, and consider speaking to a regulated financial adviser before making significant financial decisions.
Advertising
Spondoons carries no affiliate links and takes no commission from any product provider. We have no commercial relationship with the companies or products we write about, and no company can pay to be featured or ranked more favourably. This site carries display advertising; third-party ad networks may set cookies in your browser, which you can manage through your browser settings.
Accuracy
We work hard to keep everything on the site accurate and up to date, but tax rates, thresholds and product terms change. We can’t guarantee that every figure is correct or current, and we accept no liability for decisions made based on the information or calculator results on this site. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded under the law of England and Wales.
Using our content
You’re welcome to link to and cite our pages (a link back to the source is appreciated). You may not copy substantial parts of the site or reproduce our calculators without permission.
Changes
We may update these terms and this privacy notice from time to time. Changes take effect when published on this page. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.

Who we are
Our website address is https://spondoons.com. You can reach us via the contact page.
What we collect and why
Analytics. With your consent (via the cookie banner), we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site — pages visited, approximate location and device type. This data is aggregated and doesn’t identify you personally.
Calculators. The numbers you type into our calculators are processed in your browser. We don’t store the salaries, debts or savings figures you enter.
Comments. If you leave a comment we collect the data shown in the comments form, plus your IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection (comments are checked through the Akismet automated spam detection service). An anonymised hash of your email address may be provided to the Gravatar service to check if you’re using it; after approval, your profile picture is visible publicly alongside your comment.
Contact. If you contact us we keep your message and email address for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry.
Security. We use security software that logs IP addresses of visits to protect the site against attacks.
Cookies
We ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies, and you can change your choice at any time using the cookie settings link. If you leave a comment you may opt in to cookies that save your name, email and website so you don’t have to re-enter them next time; these last one year.
Embedded content from other websites
Some pages may include embedded content (for example videos). Embedded content behaves exactly as if you had visited the other website, which may collect data about you, use cookies and track your interaction with it.
How long we keep your data
Comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely so we can recognise and approve follow-up comments automatically. Analytics data is retained per Google Analytics’ standard retention settings.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of any personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (except data we must keep for administrative, legal or security purposes). To exercise any of these rights, use the contact page. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
